Tissue Manipulation Combats Work-Related Stiffness

Tissue Manipulation Combats Work-Related Stiffness

In this study, researchers measured back muscle stiffness in 59 office workers as they followed their usual work routine. After a 4.5-hour sitting period, participants performed either an eight-minute roller massage intervention or an eight-minute standing task. The researchers found that when the sitting period was followed by roller massage, stiffness measurements dropped slightly below baseline stiffness, while stiffness values remained increased when sitting was followed by a standing task.
