Chiropractor Fanwood Explains How Whiplash Alters Neck Muscles
In this study, researchers performed special ultrasounds on 36 patients with whiplash-associated disorders (WAD) in Fanwood and 36 healthy individuals and found that those with WAD had a higher rate of deformation of the semispinals cervicis and multifidus muscles, which the research team associates with an increased risk for pain, disability, and fatigue.
This finding will hopefully provide new insight into neck muscle pathology among patients who suffer from chronic WAD and may help to improve treatment.
