Chiropractor Fanwood Says Back Pain Affects Teens Quality of Life
Back Pain Affects Teens Quality of Life
Researchers evaluated data concerning 350 early adolescents and found that a third (34.3%) had lower back pain, one-in-four (27.1%) complained of neck pain, and 13.1% experienced mid-back pain.
Additionally, 21.7% of the students had pain in multiple body sites.
Further analysis revealed that teens with more frequent and/or more intense pain experienced a lower quality of life, as did those with pain in more than one anatomical location.
The findings are concerning to researchers, as musculoskeletal pain in adolescence usually continues into adulthood.
