Cluster Headache Sufferers in Fanwood May Need More Vitamin D
Cluster headaches in Fanwood often increase in the spring and fall, leading experts to suspect that attacks may be related to sunlight and vitamin D metabolism.
In this study, researchers measured the vitamin D serum levels of 28 cluster headache patients, 36 migraineurs, and 36 adults without a history of headaches.
Investigators found that nearly 93% of the cluster headache patients had deficient vitamin D levels, a rate higher than the other participants in the study.
The findings suggest that vitamin D deficiency is common among cluster headache patients; however, the role of vitamin D deficiency is uncertain, except for its possible seasonal influence.
