Treating Forward Head Posture
in Fanwood
With the increased prevalence of computers and electronic devices in everyday life, forward head posture (FHP) is becoming a lot more common, which can increase one's risk for headaches, neck pain, and impaired respiratory function.
In this study, researchers found that individuals with FHP who received upper cervical and upper thoracic spine mobilization for four weeks experienced better outcomes (improved cervical posture, less pain, better respiratory function, and greater overall improvement) than those who performed deep cervical flexor exercise for the same period of time, and these benefits persisted up to six weeks after the final treatment.
Doctors of chiropractic often use a combination of conservative therapies, including both spinal mobilization and exercise, when treating neck pain and correcting posture.
