Chiropractor Fanwood Discussed How A Gluten-Free Diet May Relieve Nerve Pain
Gluten-Free Diet May Relieve Nerve Pain
Past research has noted a link between peripheral neuropathy (pain, numbness, and weakness in the hands and feet caused by nerve damage) and gluten sensitivity.
In this study, researchers found that patients with diagnosed gluten neuropathy who adopt a gluten-free diet are significantly less likely to report pain-related symptoms in their hands and feet.
Lead author of this study notes, "These findings are exciting because it might mean that a relatively simple change in diet could help alleviate painful symptoms tied to gluten neuropathy."
