Low Back Pain Associated with Walking Problems Among Seniors
Among a group of 900 older adults, researchers found that about 31% of participants had mild lumbopelvic pain and nearly 16% suffered from moderate-to-severe lumbopelvic pain.
Assessments related to walking efficiency, endurance, and speed demonstrated that those with lumbopelvic pain used more energy to walk and had poorer overall walking endurance.
Previous studies have demonstrated a link between mobility limitations and lower quality of life scores.
