Obese Women at Higher Risk of Lumber Disk Degeneration in Fanwood

Obese Women at Higher Risk of Lumber Disk Degeneration in Fanwood

Past research has shown that obesity increases one's risk for low back pain, but the relationship between degenerative disk disease of the lumbar spine and obesity has not been thoroughly investigated.

In a recent study involving 4,966 women, researchers found that overweight and obese women had a higher risk for lumbar disk degeneration than those with a normal weight.

The findings suggest that maintaining a healthy weight may be a preventative factor of lumbar disk degeneration.
