Chiropractor Fanwood Explains Why Musculoskeletal Pain Is Common In Health Professional Students
Musculoskeletal Pain Common in Health Professional Students Explained by Dr. Cludzinski.
Questionnaires completed by 838 students from nine major healthcare majors revealed that more than two-thirds (67.1%) suffered from neck pain during the previous year.
Additionally, 61.4% reported a recent back pain episode and 58.8% noted pain in one or both shoulders in the last twelve months. Further analysis showed that clinical training load, mental stress, and smartphone use each increased a student's risk for developing neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, or other musculoskeletal pain complaints.
