Loss of Neck Motion Linked to Hearing Loss
It has been well established that cervical spine abnormalities can affect the blood vessels and nerves involved in hearing.
In a recent study, researchers performed cervical range of motion and hearing tests on 42 volunteers who had previously experienced a neck injury.
They found that male participants with range of motion limitations to their left side had an increased risk for hearing loss. The findings suggest that range of motion limitation in the neck to the left may predict hearing impairment following a cervical spine injury, especially among men.
