Chiropractor Fanwood Says Physical Fitness Can Improve Academic Performance
Physical Fitness Can Improve Academic Performance.
For the first time, a study has proven that physical fitness in children affects their brain structure, which may have an influence on their academic performance.
More specifically, researchers found that kids with greater aerobic capacity and motor ability had more gray matter in their brains-which is important for executive function, learning, and motor and visual processes. Lead researcher Dr. Francisco B. Ortega writes, "The answer is short and forceful: yes, physical fitness in children is linked in a direct way to important brain structure differences, and such differences are reflected in the children's academic performance."
