Smokers More Likely To Be Affected By Pain
Among a group of 1,189 Japanese workers, researchers observed that smokers were 25% more likely report pain-related occupational disability. Past research has demonstrated that nicotine increases pain sensitivity, which may make individuals less able to continue their normal work and life activities in the presence of musculoskeletal conditions like neck and back pain.
