Vitamin D May Affect Cardiovascular Death Risk
The National Institutes of Health notes that vitamin D3 serum levels of 50-125 nanomoles per liter (nmol/l) are considered adequate for bone and overall health.
An analysis of blood samples from 4,114 adults suggests that vitamin D blood concentrations lower than 42 nmol/l or higher than 100 nmol/l may increase the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by up to 30%.
