neck function and balance the nervous
system in your body has three control
centers for balance number one the
cerebellum which is in the back of the
brain then you have the dorsal columns
which are in the back of the spine and
then lastly you have the inner ear
there’s small receptors called propi
receptors or mechano receptors in the
joint capsules and in the muscles that
relate information back to the brain as
far as sense of awareness as far as
position and and balance now with when
it comes to Chiropractic this is how
there’s a direct connection there
there’s a branch of the nucleus of the
trinal nerve which extends from the back
of the head through C2 in the upper
cervical spine irritation or stress on
these areas can affect the way that
these receptors in the joints of those
areas relay information back to the
brain which can affect balance
coordination so if a patient comes into
my office with any type of dizziness
issues balance vertigo this is the first
place I look for any restrictions of the
joints or any uh altered alignment of
that area that could potentially put
stress biomechanical stress on that area
and irritate the nerves there and affect
the way it functions back to the brain
and ultimately how the body heals if
you’re suffering with any types of
symptoms that include balance
coordination uh dizziness vertigo
then this is the area you need to look
