You ever wake up, reach for your coffee, and realize your neck just isn’t having it? Maybe you blame the pillow… or the way you slept… or that long Zoom meeting from yesterday. And sure, those things can contribute—but here’s the truth: consistent or recurring neck pain is almost never just about sleep.

Hi, I’m Dr Eric with Fanwood Back Relief Center, and today we’re talking about neck pain—and what’s really causing it.

A lot of neck issues actually stem from posture and spinal misalignment. We spend so much time looking down at phones, laptops, and steering wheels, it changes the natural curve of our neck. Over time, this leads to muscle tension, joint stiffness, even nerve irritation.

Now here’s something you might not know: when your spine is even slightly misaligned—what we call a subluxation—it can trigger a chain reaction. That tension can radiate into your shoulders, cause headaches, and yes—even mess with your sleep quality.

Chiropractic care works by addressing those imbalances directly. Through gentle adjustments, we help restore movement, reduce pressure on nerves, and let your body do what it’s built to do—heal.

But here’s my advice even if you’re not in the office yet:

  • Be mindful of your screen time—try to keep devices at eye level.
  • Avoid cradling the phone between your ear and shoulder.
  • And if you’re waking up with pain, it might be time to look at your pillow support or sleep position.

Neck pain doesn’t have to be part of your routine. Let’s figure out the cause and get you some relief.
