Let’s talk hips—not just the ones you stretch before a workout—but the real workhorses of your body.

I’m Dr Eric with Fanwood Back Relief Center in Fanwood, and I want to connect a few dots for you. Because if you’re dealing with low back pain, knee issues, or even sciatica… your hips might be playing a bigger role than you think.

Your hips are central to how your body moves. They support your upper body, stabilize your spine, and help with walking, sitting, standing—you name it. But here’s the problem: when your hips are out of balance, tight, or misaligned, everything else has to compensate.

You might notice you’re walking a little differently. One leg might start to take more pressure than the other. Your lower back starts to ache. Before you know it, your knees hurt and your posture’s off—and it all started with the hips.

At our clinic, we look at how your joints are working together. Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue work, and targeted rehab exercises can all help reset the chain—starting at the hips.

A couple tips if you’re noticing tension or imbalance:

  • Get up and move if you’re sitting for long periods—hip flexors tighten fast.

  • Try gentle stretches like figure-four or lunges to loosen things up.

  • And pay attention to how you sit—crossing your legs can throw off alignment over time.

Remember, when your hips are in harmony, the rest of your body moves a whole lot better.
