Think your back pain started when you bent over to pick up your keys? Dr. Eric Chludzinski reveals why that painful moment was likely years in the making.
In this episode, learn why prevention and long-term care are crucial for avoiding those “sudden” injuries that seem to come out of nowhere. Discover how small issues compound over time and what you can do to stop problems before they start.
If you’ve ever wondered why your body seems to break down without warning, this episode will change how you think about pain and healthcare.
Hey there, and welcome back to the Fanwood Back Relief Center podcast. This is Doctor Eric Chludzinski, and I’m glad you’re here with me today.
You know what I hear almost every single day in the office? Someone will come in with terrible back pain or a neck issue that’s making their life miserable, and they’ll say something like, “I don’t know what happened, Doc. I just bent over to pick up my keys and boom, my back went out.” And here’s the thing. That moment when you bent over? That wasn’t when the problem started. That was just when your body finally said, “Okay, I’ve had enough.”
Let me explain what I mean. Think about your spine like the foundation of a house. If you’ve got a tiny crack in your foundation, you might not notice it right away. Maybe it’s been there for months, even years. But over time, that crack gets a little bigger. Water seeps in. The soil shifts. And then one day, seemingly out of nowhere, you’ve got a serious problem. But it didn’t happen overnight, did it? It was building the whole time.
Your spine works the same way. When we have poor posture at work, when we sit for hours every day, when we sleep on an old mattress or carry stress in our shoulders, we’re creating little problems. Small misalignments. Tight muscles. Reduced mobility. None of it feels like a crisis in the moment. But over time, these little issues stack up. They compound. And eventually, something as simple as bending over becomes the last straw.
This is exactly why prevention matters so much. And this is why I’m such a big believer in long-term wellness care, not just crisis care.
Let me ask you something. When’s the last time you got your teeth cleaned? Probably within the last six months, right? You don’t wait until you have a raging cavity to see your dentist. You go for regular checkups because you know prevention is easier than dealing with a root canal later. Well, your spine deserves that same kind of attention.
At Fanwood Back Relief Center, we see people at all stages. Some folks come in during a crisis, and we absolutely help them get out of pain. We use chiropractic care, spinal decompression, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and other techniques to get you feeling better fast. But here’s where the magic really happens. Once you’re out of pain, that’s when the real work begins. That’s when we focus on strengthening, stabilizing, and preventing the next episode.
Wellness care means regular adjustments to keep your spine aligned. It means catching small problems before they become big ones. It means keeping your nervous system functioning at its best so your whole body can heal and adapt.
And listen, I get it. When you feel good, it’s easy to think you don’t need to come back. But that’s like saying you’ll stop changing the oil in your car because it’s running fine today. Maintenance matters. Consistency matters.
So here’s what I want you to think about. If you’ve been dealing with recurring pain, pain that comes and goes, or even if you just feel like your body isn’t moving the way it used to, don’t wait for the crisis. Come see us. Let’s take some X-rays if we need to. Let’s figure out what’s really going on under the surface. And let’s create a plan that’s not just about feeling better this week, but about feeling strong and healthy for years to come.
Whether you’re an athlete trying to stay in peak condition, a parent keeping up with your kids, or someone recovering from an auto accident, we’ve got the tools to help. From pediatric care to prenatal care to care for active adults, we tailor everything to your unique needs.
Your pain didn’t start yesterday. And your healing doesn’t have to stop once you feel better. Let’s build something lasting together.
