Does back pain just come out of nowhere?
In my opinion, most of the time, greater
than 90% back pain just doesn’t arise
out of nowhere. Typically, it has
something to do with either a lack of
motion in a certain area, the joints not
moving properly, the muscles not being
as flexible as they should be, not
having the proper alignment, not having
the proper core strength, not keeping
your tissues hydrated, not eating the
proper foods, the proper rest, all these
things matter. So, when somebody comes
into the office says, “I wasn’t doing
anything. and they just bent over, pick
something up or just reach something for
something in the cabinet. You got to
imagine that when your body gets injured
or you’re using poor posture habits over
time, your body will be adaptive. It
will deal with this stuff until it can’t
anymore. And a lot of times, it’s just
that one incident that kind of the straw
that broke the camel’s back and set off
the wheels in motion and created that
inflammation. So, what can you do? Well,
we just talked about a few different
things. making sure that your spine is
flexible, that it’s strong, that you’re
putting the proper nutrition in your
body, you’re getting the proper rest,
you’re using proper postural habits and
ergonomics at work, at home, with your
hobbies, at the gym, whatever it might
be. Now, if you’re dealing with chronic

isolated acute injury, of course, don’t
just ignore it. Getting checked out,
making sure everything is healthy, in
the right position, moving properly,
functional, is where you could start.
