Whiplash injury and midback pain. Most
people when they hear the term whiplash,
they either heard it before, they know
what it is, or they got an idea of what
it is. Typically, whiplash occurs with
auto accidents, but it could also occur
with a fall, a sports injury. Anytime
you’re there’s a sudden impact to the
body and your head snaps forward and
back, it causes injury to the spine. uh
the quick acceleration and deceleration
type of trauma injuries cause lots of
problems in the neck and upper back. You
got to keep in mind that the muscles,
the soft tissues, the tendons,
everything that attaches from your
midback to your shoulders runs and
attaches to your neck and the base of
your skull. So what happens in one area
will affect another area. Even if the
cervical spine is the only spot injured,
uh you got to keep in mind that up to 25
to 30% of movement of the head occurs in
the thoracic spine. So it’s very
important if you’re in a car accident,
you’re have a traumatic fall sports
injury where you think you might have
whiplash injury. It’s important not only
to check the cervical spine but also the
thoracic spine too, the midback because
these areas can be uh caught with
restriction, locked joints, subluxation
where the spine’s not in the right
position and it can irritate the tissues
and cause lots of pain, limited
mobility, u issues like knots in between
the shoulder blades. So, it’s important
you check the whole area um when there’s
any type of trauma like a whiplash
injury. If you have any type of
discomfort in your neck, in your
midback, if you were in a car accident,
if you’ve had any type of fall, sports
injury where you think that that could
